Aspen Cinemas Fundraiser for ECOC - December 20th

Did you enjoy our recent Handel's Messiah concerts in Kemmerer and Evanston?

Join the ECOC this Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Aspen Cinemas for a Movie Night fundraiser.  The theater will be donating 50% of all concession sales to ECOC, starting at 4:00 p.m. on that day.

2018 Christmas Concert - G.F. Handel's Messiah

This Christmas concert by the Evanston Civic Orchestra & Chorus and the Kemmerer Community Choir is coming up soon.  The first performance is in Kemmerer on December 1st.  The Evanston performance is on December 3rd.  Admission to both performances is free, and families are invited.  Refreshments will be served at a reception afterwards.

Support the ECOC - Shop at NU2U on Saturday, October 27th

Shop at NU2U on Saturday, October 27th, from 10:00 - 4:00 p.m.  NU2U will donate 80% of thrift store sales to the Evanston Civic Orchestra and Chorus.

Every week the thrift store adds about a thousand items to their shelves.  Find craft supplies, fabric, costumes, clothing for all ages, books, kitchen utensils and gadgets, office gadgets, holiday decorations, and more!

Yard sale season is over, but you can still get great buys when you shop at NU2U.  What's more, you'll feel great about helping the ECOC raise funds for this year's programming: Handel's Messiah on December 1st in Kemmerer and December 3rd in Evanston; A Cappella Night with the chorus on February 8th; Winter Concert with the orchestra on February 22nd.

Fall rehearsals for Handel's Messiah start soon

New members are welcome this fall in the Evanston Civic Orchestra & Chorus as they start preparations for their Christmas concert on December 1st and December 3rd - Handel's Messiah. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. at Davis Middle School

Chorus starts September 6th
Orchestra starts October 4th (at EMS this week only)

The orchestra is particularly looking for new string players, and the chorus will accept singers for all parts. Auditions are not required, though membership is typically open to high-school age youth and adults with a moderate degree of training or experience who can perform the music. Younger students are accepted when they are musically able to perform the music, socially mature, and recommended by a teacher. A membership contribution of $20 for adults and $10 for students is requested of members, though everyone is welcome to participate regardless of ability to contribute. Spring Concert "Together" - May 7, 2018

Our spring concert is coming up soon. The orchestra is playing some great orchestral works that are very familiar, including "The Moldau" by Smetana and a movement from Schubert's "Unfinished Symphony." The Chorus is singing some beautiful songs, including "Dirait-on" and "Oh, My Love's Like a Red, Red Rose." The exciting finale of the concert will be a combined orchestra and chorus piece, "Dry Your Tears, Afrika" by John Williams. See you on May 7th, 7:00 p.m. at Davis Middle School. The concert is free, and families are invited.

Spring 2018 Schedule

The Evanston Civic Orchestra is exciting to be collaborating with the BYU Chamber Orchestra for the February 23rd concert, 7:00 pm at Davis Middle School.  This concert is part of The Arts Inc. Concert Series and tickets are required.  Buy your tickets from the Evanston Civic Orchestra and Chorus to help in their fundraiser.  The Arts Inc. will donate back to them 1/2 of the ticket sales they make.  Use our contact form to coordinate.

On March 26th the Evanston Civic Chorus will host an a cappella concert for the whole community at Evanston Middle School, 7:00 pm.  This concert is free and families are encouraged to attend together.  Small a cappella ensembles are invited to participate on the program.  Contact us to show your interest.

Both the orchestra and the chorus will combine for the final spring concert on May 7th, 7:00 pm at Davis Middle School.  Refreshments will be served, and families are invited to this free concert.
